I use to count the days but time quickly made me count the years.

Asking for one more day, hour, minute would be asking for too much but this Daddy’s girl selfishly needs every second taken from her and her family over the last 17 years. My Dad dedicated his life to his family. His love, support, and consistency were surreal in a world full of brokenness and fickleness.

In facing June 3rd again, the day my father was tragically murdered by a drugged driver, I meet today with deep sadness and numbness. Grief brings various feelings and numbness is a new one in this season for me. I question why and the answer is simple; gratitude can’t share space with ingrates, anger is at war with joy, contentment is in opposition with emptiness, and optimism can’t be in harmony with the hopeless. In spite of these conflicts, I am confident grief can reside with them all.

Signing off on an endeavor much bigger than myself

Signing off on an endeavor much bigger than myself… this is for my legacy.

It’s taken years to get to this moment but with the gift of perseverance and God’s constant presence, another good work is done!

The year of 2022 was a season of completion for me. In reflection, I stretched myself more than I realized at the time. From shifting goals to victories and obstacles to triumphs in multiple areas of my life, I exceeded what I thought was possible for me alone to achieve over the course of a single year. It required me to be OK with saying “no” or “not now” to other goals or opportunities in order to gain the wins I experienced. A season such as this doesn’t come without challenges and heartache but I’ll always choose to weather the storm in pursuit of my goals over not taking risks.

I celebrate this season of completion and welcome everything I’m making room for in the days to come.
